What Are the Chicago Bears Waiting For? Acquire Brandon Marshall Now by Tom Smith Tom Smith Featured Columnist

. Written on March 10, 2010 Jeff Gross/Getty Images For the record, I am not a Bears fan. There are just certain teams that I like to be good. In the NFL, the Bears are one of those teams. It is easier to root against a team if they're good.

There are rumors aplenty surrounding Denver wide receiver Brandon Marshall. We all know that this malcontent wants out of Denver, and that Denver is willing to part with him.

As far I can tell, the most rumored landing spots for Marshall are the Seahawks and the Bengals. Well, I couldn't care less about either of those teams. If given the power, I would veto those trades.

The Bears have a petulant, but big-armed QB. The kid needs someone to throw to. Brandon Marshall is arguable the best in the game right now, and he's available. Not a good idea to pair them up?

Recent moves by the Bears suggest that they are going all in this offseason to build a winner. Why not get Marshall?

He pouts and whines...fine. Throw him the ball enough, and I'm sure he'll be happy. Besides, he is light years better than any of Jay Cutler's current targets.

Why is this not done yet? Wouldn't the Broncos consider the Bears a better trading partner than an in-conference rival like the Bengals? Does anyone think he'd be a bad fit?

Probably because the Broncos can get a first from someone else.

Good point. I hadn't thought of that.

I don't think the broncos will get a first, but i would be surprised if they get less than a 2.

So... if he is available for a 3, do we do the deal? hahaha

No, I dont want Terrel Owens Jr. on this team.

Brandon...Brandon...Brandon...

We already got one with Brandon 6 syllables at T.E.

OK...so we got Brandon 6 and he MAY catch passes...

but then again...

if I was ANGELO and my ass was on the line...

to make a move towards Marshall...its a no brainer.

But...it'll never happen...

WHAT COULD HAPPEN...is...TORY HOLT...TERELL OWENS...

They've been thru the ringer of the NFL...they KNOW how the game is played.

Yea...sure...sign either one of them...and if the COIN is right...

sign em BOTH.

Anybody have a problem with two future HALL OF FAMERS on our team at this point in time of their careers?

IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT?

They would be like not only players but coaches of the WIDE RECEIVERS,

and they should come cheap too.

Never happen...cost in picks and signing the adolecent is not only not worth worth it but will set this team back several years.

no more toys for Martz until we get the secondary fixed.

"no more toys for Martz until we get the secondary fixed."

Thats not martz' problem... he needs WR's.

Proven...fucking...veterns.

As much as I like his talent, I don't think Owens would respond well to being part of a rotation, Milton Bradley part II

I'd like to know if Aroma is Marcus Robinson waiting for his opportunity, or just the next Keith Ortega - best of an average bunch.

I think a rotation of Hester and Knox at the slot position, Aroma and Bennett at the other positions is our best option.

I get the feeling Martz wants to prove that his system is good enough that we can win with the WRs we've got.

And anyway we've got much bigger fish to fry... FS and OG being 1 and 1a.

Good point. You'd like to see how productive he is when defenses start keying on him more. But he has it all: size, nice hands, speed and he doesn't appear to be the primma donna type like many wideouts.

Throw in Knox, Hester, Bennett and Iglesias and the WR position might be the youngest, strongest and deepest on the team.

Right, not to write of Iglesias, forgot about him

Holt could teach the WR's the Martz system...if he comes CHEAP!

Owens garners PRESS...if he comes CHEAP!

Cutler to Holt & Owens?

Others would have to STEP UP...or be swepped aside as so many other WR's on DAA BEARSSE have been.

If Holt & Owens COME CHEAP...sign em!

...or not.
