26 year old Anderson, QB for the Browns just got kicked to the curb.
IF Martz is so good, what the hell?
We need a solid backup QB. Go for it Jerry. Brownies mistake is our gain. Tomas Jones signs with the Chirfs and LaDamien Tomlinson goes to check out the Vikes.
Anderson is a real question mark.
Reminds me of Mark Anderson on our team...one hot year.
Looking forward to that 3.0 rushing avg. if L.T. signs with the Vikes.

Derek Anderson sucks... couldn't even beat out the worst Notre Dame QB to come into the league since Rick Mirer. But he is probably better than the other clown (Shaun Hill) that was speculated as a possible pickup for the Bears a few years ago. The deal is, some desperate team is going to give Derek Anderson a chance to be a starter and he'll go there. My money's on the Cardinals.
As for Thomas Jones, glad he landed with the Chiefs (and REALLY glad he didn't end up a Viking). I hope for his sake they can put some wins together down there in KC this year.

I had wondered whether the problem was the Clev QBs or their QB Coach.
When Holmren dumped Anderson that settled the issue as far as I'm concerned.

When you're a QB and someone decides they'd rather go with Seneca Wallace than with you, that's not a good sign.
Well Brady Quinn isnt the answer at QB either
yapper
No he isn't, and the Browns are shopping him now too.
Seriously... Seneca Wallace as a starter? Even for the Browns? I don't think so. Holmgren must have something better than that in mind.
But he is the GM, right? He isnt the coach. Unless he is actually going to coach the QBs he doesnt have a clue.
yapper
Holmgren is the GM, Mangini is the HC. That should be interesting. After how many losses does Holmgren fire Mangini and just put the head coach hat back on as well?
He'd have to.
Did anyone see the goodbye posts to Clevland that Anderson left to his former team and city?
They wernt pretty.

Yes but he has since apologized.
Yes and no...

That was a great one

That's really young. Merlin seemed like the type of guy I thought would see 75 or 80 at least.
He really was a man of many talents and a class act as well.

He was one of my favorite football broadcasters of all time. I always thought he did an excellent job of explaining why things were happening, or waht to expect to happen. Damn sure if he wasn't right most of the time.
RIP
Merlin Olsen was the Color Commentator for the Bears Super Bowl XX win!
I really liked that guy...

Wow, Mesothelioma - typically caused by exposure to asbestos, right?
Always see the ambulance-chaser lawyer commercials hawking that one...
